Film Screening: Sleep Dealer

Event Description

Alex Rivera is a Peruvian/American filmmaker, best known for his future dystopia film Sleep Dealer. It started making waves at Sundance Film Festival, where his films are known for themes of labor, immigration, politics and many topics pertaining to being Latin American. Sleep Dealer is a film set in the future, where migrant workers are plugged into global networks doing menial jobs. Doesn’t sound too far-fetched, does it? As part of their Indie Night, Film Society at Lincoln Center will be screening the film at Howard Gilman Theater on October 16.
