Jazz/World Nights: Banda Magda’s intricate and refreshing, global sound is due mainly to the diverse musical backgrounds of the five musicians of the group and the great friendship that continues to grow among them.
Magda Giannikou a native Greek, sings in 7 languages (so far), plays accordion, piano and surprisingly enough, the double bass. Magda & Banda Magda draw inspiration from the music of diverse artists such as Henri Salvador, Serge Gainsbourg, Tom Jobim, The Beatles, and Pink Martini.
