Just back from their US and Colombia tour, Que Bajo is hosting the California Cumbia label Bersa Discos’s release party on October 15th at Santos Party House. A Remezcla favorite, Uproot Andy, Geko Jones, Sabo and Disco Shawn always come through on their promise to throw one sick party. “Bersa Discos is one of the first labels to focus on the new cumbia styles emerging in different parts of the world. Their releases chop and splice vintage crate-digger cumbias with anything from hip-hop beats to dancehall to dubstep and include records by past Que Bajo guest Toy Selectah as well our own Uproot Andy. The new EP features New Yorker DJ Sabo who is also runs his own imprint Sol Selectas and will join us at Santos Party House along with Label co-founder Disco Shawn out of San Francisco. Also we’ll be celebrating QB family member Jean Bernabe’s born day. Last month was a massive night with dubstep dancehall and bhangra thrown into the mix. This month we return to our roots.
