Event Description
The Cuban, funk group Delexilio brings it back to El Barrio on Nov 5th, where they will be welcoming the Cornell Latino Alumni Association as special guests. They will be playing at Camaradas.
“Delexilio, (or “Del Exilio,”) means “from the exile.”
“An Afro-Cuban rock fusion of Cuban and American musical styles — Delexilio is the musical project of David Sandoval, a young musician born into the world of Cuban exiles, living life to a Cuban rhythm in the heart of the New York urban scene.
Delexilio brings the funk “a lo Cubano,” channeling the rhythm of the Cuban son through guitar riffs, mixing rock, hip hop, and funk beats with Cuban cadence, and immersing us in passionate lyrics in English and Spanish. This music is meant to move you, make you dance, and inspire you to think. Feel the groove, transport yourself to a tropical paradise, and shout for freedom!
Delexilio strongly supports grassroots movements in Cuba aimed at promoting free expression, especially artistic expression.” Delexilio.com
