The Afro-Latin Dance Company Abakuá will be returning to the Tribeca Performing Arts Center for its second annual performance series after a historic round at Lincoln Center.
The world premiere of highly anticipated The Life and Death of Suzy Q,will take place on November 6th. A new composition from choreographer and Artistic Director Frankie Martinez, this show will highlight Abakuá’s signature dance style, self-titled as “Afro Latin Funk.”
With the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center commitment to bringing high caliber culturally diverse arts to the greater New York Metropolitan area, this highly anticipated annual performance series will be a feast for the eyes, mind, body, and spirit!
“Abakuá Afro-Latin Dance Company makes a triumphant return to BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center for its 2nd Annual Performance Series.
Fresh from its well-received Lincoln Center Out of Doors performance this past summer, the company is poised to deliver an unforgettable show that will demonstrate the company’s unique vision, talent and innovative spirit at the hands of renowned Artistic Director and choreographer Frankie Martinez.
This particular performance series will mark the the world Premiere of the bold new performance piece entitled The Life & Death of Suzy Q.
The new choreography will reflect a symbolic as well as literal transcendence in the philosophy and practice of the entire Afro-Latin genre as interpreted by Abakuá.
The program will also consist of two classic pieces from the company’s repertoire, Raices and Children of a Groove.” Tribeca Performing Arts Center

Only if this was free like Lincoln Center, their show there was unbelievable! I mean they had many standing ovation, it was just amazing and entertaining to watch…im buying my ticket 10 mins ago.. lol
